Scott Stewart, founding member of Crested Butte, CO, based Floodgate Operators, knows a thing or two about fast, flat-picking bluegrass and has continued perfecting the craft since the band’s 2018 conception. As a solo performer, Scott highlights everything from his original contributions to the band, nods to his musical inspirations, and all the old bluegrass traditions that fall in between.

Scott has been fortunate enough to share stages with his musical heroes including Drew Emmitt (Leftover Salmon), Anders Beck (Greensky Bluegrass), Mark Morris (Rapidgrass), Lindsay Lou, John Mailander (Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers), Max Davies (Kitchen Dwellers) and Kyle Tuttle (Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway).

Scott’s solo performances offer the intimacy akin to those from the bluegrass days of old, with an ability to connect with flat picking fans of all generations.
